AAPI Month Celebration at SFO for May 2026

May marks Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time we take to uplift and celebrate the important role that Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders have played in our shared history. It serves as an opportunity to reflect on the rich and varied histories of individuals and communities with roots across this wide geographical area. In addition, it’s important to acknowledge both the historical and present-day challenges and prejudices that the community has faced.

As a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region, San Francisco is a city rich in AAPI history and culture. SFO is proud to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with a series of events and exhibitions to educate, entertain and inspire passengers.

  • Performers for 2026 included LIKHA and Te Pura O Te Rahura'a.
  • The SFO Museum Video Arts Gallery in the International Terminal Main Hall featured four short films by AAPI artists through the month of May.
  • SFO Museum prepared a 2026 Public Art AAPI Artists Self-Guided Tour Map featuring the AAPI artists and exhibits at SFO. Check it out below:
